AUTHOR & ABSTRACT INFORMATION
- A maximum of 2 scientific abstracts/videos can be submitted per submission institution/team.
- For abstracts with multiple authors, you need to agree on one person who will be presenting the abstract at the conference.
- The submitted work must:
- provide enough information for reviewers to assess the topic’s nature and significance, the suitability of the investigative technique, the nature of the results, and the conclusions.
- may not be a review or a simple narration.
- summarize the work’s substantive outcomes rather than simply listing subjects to be explored.
be original. Scientific data gathered by the author(s) must be included in the abstract. All reports must be based on previously completed work. No “in progress” studies will be allowed.

- Abstract Specification Details
All abstracts must be structured using the following section headings:

- Introduction - Include a brief statement on the intent of the study and the current state of research in the field. Specifically, describe the quality gap (limitation or problem) within the practice of thoracic surgery that this research addresses. (50-word maximum)
- Methods - The methods of the study should be clearly stated. (150-word maximum)
- Results - Provide a summary of the study findings, including sufficient details to support the conclusions. These may be presented in a brief table (no more than five columns of data). (200-word maximum)
- Conclusion - Include 1-2 statements concerning the significance of the work and its implications for further research. (50-word maximum)
- Tables: Up to one table or figure allowed. Files should be in one of the following formats: .jpg, .tif, or .png. (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word documents are not permitted) and .mp4.
- Abstract should not exceed more than 300 words or 250 words if a figure or table is submitted.
- Abstracts cannot contain product names; generic terms must be used when describing a single product.
- If your abstract is selected for oral presentation, you will be allotted 6 min for presentation followed by 4 minutes of discussion.
- The presenting author must attend in person and will receive:
- Complimentary registration for all days of the conference and
- a certificate of attendance and appreciation for your presentation
- No research team member will be permitted to utilize the session to promote services, products, or other entities that are commercial in nature.
- Travel/accommodation expenses will not be provided
